Blocks the adrule id: family-status

Family and marital status in job ads

"No kids", "single people preferred" and "unmarried" are off limits in many states.

Where the rule comes from

Federal law covers pregnancy and sex; many states and cities go further and protect marital and familial status outright. Either way, the ad is the wrong place to manage availability.

What the check flags

References to children, marriage or family plans as a preference or requirement.

Flagged

  • “Single people preferred for travel role”
  • “No kids, this job means late nights”
  • “Must be unmarried”

Says the same thing, passes

  • “Travel 3 weeks per month required”
  • “Late shifts until 2am, 4 nights a week”
  • “Weekend availability required”

Worth knowing

State the schedule or the travel. Candidates decide for themselves whether it fits their lives.

How HirePromo handles it

The parser rewrites the problem out of your ad copy, the original wording is shown to you with this rule cited, and the pack can't be ordered until the finding is fixed.
