Where the rule comes from
Under the ADEA an upper age limit in an ad is unlawful unless age is a bona fide occupational qualification, which is rare and must be justified. Statutory minimum ages are different and may be stated.
What the check flags
Explicit caps and brackets: "maximum age", "aged under 30", "25–35 years old".
Flagged
- “Candidates aged 20–30 years old”
- “Maximum age 40”
- “Applicants aged under 35”
Says the same thing, passes
- “Must be 21+ (state law for serving alcohol)”
- “Must be 18 or older”
- “Valid CDL with 2+ years of driving experience”
How HirePromo handles it
